Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arranging uses branches, leaves, blossoms and other plant materials to express emotions and symbolic meaning. The program will describe the basics on how color, line, form and structure in an arrangement enhances the beauty of the plant materials. You will be shown how to cut branches and flowers, measure angles and space for the correct placement of plant materials in a container. If you would like to design an arrangement, bring a container, a frog (if you have one), flowers and greenery from your garden.
