The Arlington Garden Club has organized a field trip for Club members to the Bridge of Flowers located in Shelburne Falls, MA on Tuesday, August 15. Car pooling is available. If you have not already signed up to car pool or volunteered to be a driver and you would like to car pool, call Nancy Hadley, 802-768-8946. Attendees, car poolers and drivers will meet at 10:00 AM at St. James Episcopal Church, Rt. 7A in Arlington. Bring a picnic lunch or eat at one of the local restaurants. There is no entrance fee, but donations are welcomed.
Join the garden club members for a delightful stroll over the Bridge of Flowers, home to several hundred types of flowers, shrubs and trees planted on an old trolley bridge in 1927. You will be surprised by the variety of plants, from sedum ground cover to vines overhead. No matter where you look or what time of year it is, you will see flowers in all colors of the rainbow. The bridge is maintained by a team of volunteers who ensures the garden is weeded and plants are cared for, making the bridge looks its best.
