Yoga for Gardeners
If you didn't attend the Yoga For Gardeners program, we missed you. The program was informative, helpful and fun. Pamela Fletcher, local physical therapist and yoga instructor, talked about body mechanics to reduce the risk of gardening injuries to the neck, shoulders, spine, knees, and hands. We participated in some simple and easy stretching exercises to warm up before you start gardening. She explained how the spine, hips, pelvis work during typical gardening body movements. In addition, she demonstrated how to safely dig in the garden, lift objects, get up from the ground and how to protect your back while raking, shoveling and weeding.
